So my friend Aaron changed my facebook profile picture without me knowing, and it's been an enlightening experience for everyone, including myself.
And I like it.

Lime Concept
This was for my shader programming class. We had to choose a fruit and paint it digitally. Later we'll learn to make it a realistic 3D fruit!
final image :) |
p.s.
This was a very challenging assignment for me (as they always tend to be), and here are some epic fails before my final image. Yep. They were epic.
Rig Test -- Jumping
I really enjoy animating :)

Kimchi Love
Dahea & broski |
This was from the plane ride to Korea back in June. We all share love for kimchi, but at times I'm amazed at newer and higher love my brother has for kimchi.

Bouncing Ball
It's been way too long since I last posted.
BYU animation program makes a short animated film every year, and this year's film is called Chasm. I have a desire to be part of the animating group, so I've been trying to do the assignments given over the summer break.
(These assignments are not related to the film.)
(These assignments are not related to the film.)
1. Bouncing Ball
2. Heavy vs. Light
3. Obstacle Course (and Squash & Stretch)
Although my results aren't that fancy, these were fantastic assignments that helped me learn a lot. Hopefully you can see the improvement from the first to last.

Gender Identity
Couple Sundays ago I sat next to a seven year old boy in church primary. Whether he was sitting next to a girl or a boy--that was up to him to decide.
He did seem to genuinely consider the possibility for few seconds. I suppose I should start trying to be less funny so I can eventually get married to a boy.

Power of Imaginary Punch
At a young age my brother mastered the art of playing by himself. As he would any other day, he was in a room playing fighting against his powerful enemy with weapons he made out of cardboard boxes. Thinking he might want a company, I went to see how he was doing and found him like so.
Sometimes his imaginary enemies are a lot stronger than he can handle.
(But don't worry, in the end he won by throwing the Holy Mackerel at his enemy.)

So Much Love
In the middle of watching a movie in the living room, my sister started to walk backwards...toward me. All the hard work--walking backwards bumping into things while keeping her eyes on the screen--just to see what I was doing.
Sometimes her love and attention overwhelms me into tears.

Sunshine, Daisies, Butter Mellow...
Give me some cold, green jello. |
Summer breaks are made up of late nights, sleeping in, nonexistence of mornings, lazy best gestures, procrastination, brain cell slaughter, and occasional natural sunlight.
It was truly blinding.
And dad didn't need my help.

The Four Friends
Dahea, I, Josephine and Song |
We lived together last school year and we are tight. As distinct as the colors we are so different from each other. But together we're more harmonious (and fun) than these four colors can be.
I love you, mang.
2D Stuff from Winter 2012 Semester
For my 2D animation class, we were given a character to use for the entire semester. Cynthia, our teacher, let us give him a name and a personality, and I chose mine to be named Ollie.
This was the third assignment, which was to make our character "move a rock." We had the liberty to choose what kind of rock it'll be (weight, size, etc.) and how the character will move it.
Ollie's from another planet, so he can move things with his mind!
(This was done using regular paper and a pencil.)
[March 2012]
For the final assignment we had to choose a sound clip (can you guess where mine's from?) and move the character according to it.
(I used Flash for this one.)
[April 2012]
I love 2D animation. It has a lot of tedious work that comes with it, but it's so flexible and friendly (compared to 3D animation). I had fun doing these assignments :)

The Power of Imagination
One of my friends texted me:
"I'm with [a friend of ours] and a mission companion who is from Utah. Fitted cut off jean shorts, man bag or purse however you want to refer to it, hair that is kind of longish up front, and I'm sure he brushes it or combs it into that style everyday. He is cute though and has dimples and a pedophile mustache."
The blog wouldn't let me post this in its original size (too long, I suppose), so I had to separate them into pieces.
This was just my silly interpretation of my friend's text, and I apologize for any offenses I might have made. I was joking. (Mostly.) I still don't know what this guy actually looks like, but it'd be fun to meet him later and show this to him.
